Hi I’m Hannes,

My journey in the world of hairdressing began in 1985 as an apprentice, and I qualified as a stylist in 1988. Over the years, I had the privilege of being the Head Stylist for the Miss SA pageant in the Western Cape, and later, a Redken Stylist in 1998. Fashion, catwalks, and behind-the-scenes work became a huge part of my life, providing invaluable experience. However, after a time, I realized that this wasn’t the path I wanted to follow forever.

In 2000, I moved from Cape Town to Plettenberg Bay and opened the first Cutting Club in Mellville’s Corner in 2002, followed by a second salon in Market Square two years later. I sold the salons in 2006 and joined the Evolve Hair and Nail Studio team, where I’ve been part of the family ever since.

When I’m not at work, I’m surrounded by my 9 horses, 3 dogs, and a host of chickens. I’m also lucky to share my life with my wonderful partner, Liz.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the hairdressing industry, I’ve had the privilege of helping people look and feel their best. For the past 11 years, I’ve been a proud member of the team at Evolve Hair and Nail Studio, after working at several other salons in Plettenberg Bay.

I live in New Horizon with my family, and I absolutely love working with people. My greatest passion is hairdressing, and it’s my goal to make sure every client feels like the best version of themselves from the moment they walk through the door to the moment they leave.

Hairdressing is more than just a job for me; it’s a way to connect with others, boost confidence, and transform how people feel. I can’t wait to help you achieve your perfect look!

Hi I’m Chaand,

I’ve recently moved from Cape Town to join the vibrant community here. With over 20 years of experience in the Beauty Industry, I’m a freelance consultant specializing in Beauty Therapy and Education. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with some well-known brands and have gained invaluable experience as an educator in the field.
Currently, I’m focusing on mentoring and intuitively guiding young women to overcome self-limiting beliefs, offering emotional support, and empowering them to embrace their full potential. Recently, I’ve upskilled a group of local women in Manicures and Pedicures, with plans to expand this project and host more empowering workshops in the future.
I’m thrilled to announce that I will be offering my services at Evolve Plett! My specialties include eyebrow grooming, skincare consultations and therapy, massage, and waxing.
I’m deeply passionate about people, the beauty industry, and life itself, and I can’t wait to return to the treatment room to connect with you. Whether you’re here for a pampering session, need some self-care, or just want to pop in and say “hi,” I look forward to seeing you soon!
In my free time, I lead an active lifestyle and love staying fit through running, swimming, and weightlifting. Dancing is another favorite hobby of mine, and I’m always up for enjoying different genres of music. You’ll often find me in the kitchen, experimenting with new ingredients – cooking is my way of de-stressing and unleashing my creativity. I also love spending time outdoors, soaking in the beauty of nature.

Hi I’m Matashe,

A True Plett Local, I began my hairdressing journey in October 1999 at the age of 19 with the Evolve team. Over the years, I’ve developed a deep passion for every aspect of the industry, from working as a basin operator and managing reception to applying tint and retailing products. My goal is to ensure every client leaves the salon happy, as I believe a positive experience starts the moment they walk through the door.

Working alongside Hannes as his assistant has been a valuable learning experience, and I thrive under his mentorship. His guidance continually inspires me, and I firmly believe in the power of teamwork—”Teamwork makes the dream work.”

When I’m not at the salon, I love spending time with my wonderful family—my husband, children, and grandchildren—who bring me so much joy.

Hi I’m Chanté,

I began my career as a nail technician after studying at House of Beauty and gained valuable experience working at Beauty at Didiz in Malmesbury. In 2019, I made the exciting move to Plett and, on July 13, 2021, joined the Evolve team as their dedicated nail technician.

Currently, I am expanding my expertise by studying hairdressing through Benjamin Hair Academy, with a passion for becoming a well-rounded stylist.

Beauty has always been my passion, and I truly thrive in the salon environment. I love the constant connection with clients and the opportunity to make people feel their best.

When I’m not perfecting my craft, I enjoy immersing myself in nature and spending quality time with my family and friends.
